Danielle's armwarmers

Romney lamb fleece, combed briefly, handpulled into a rough top, spun firmly into a 2ply fingering weight (Thursday and Friday night), run through the knitting machine this morning and dyed this afternoon.
Armwarmers 1

Coloured BFL top dyed in a diluted version of my Greenwood colourway, spun into a 2ply.
Armwarmers 2

I'm still thinking about the style of the armwarmers these are destined to become. The colours were inspired by Autumn but will still work right into the winter - a bleached out green with rich golds and reds and purples. I'm thinking celtic-patterned colourwork with some sort of hem or facing rather than ribbing, but we shall see. The Romney is still drying.

Things to think about

No details as yet, but I have a couple of commissions to do before Christmas which I shall be diarising there. One is partly spun, the other is still being thought about, though fibre has been sorted out and ordered.

More to come.

Something autumnal

Humbug bfl copper

Shetland silk copper

Coloured BFL copper

Shetland silk lamia

I've not dyed the black shetland and silk before, but I rather like the subtle effects. And the humbug bluefaced leicester is something I'll do again.

Off to the fabled west country this morning, so I won't be sending anything out until I get back roundabout the 19th September.
